We, a coalition of concerned individuals and organizations, have sent a JOINT REPRESENTATION to the Government of India and the state governments, expressing concerns over the unwarranted and excessive collection and processing of personal data during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. RAISE YOUR VOICE TO HOLD THE AUTHORITIES ACCOUNTABLE
We, the concerned individuals and organizations, urge the Government of India to resort to strict legal measures and adhere to the privacy and data protection principles (mentioned below) for the collection and processing of personal data during the ongoing pandemic.
Any collection and processing should be:
- Time-Limited
- Necessary and Proportional
- Transparent and Accountable
- Secure
- For the Limited Purpose of public health and combating COVID-19.
